Any tips on growing Morning Glory flowers ?

Morning glories are pretty easy to get started as long as you don't plant the seeds to deep (about 1/2 an inch) and it helps to soak the seeds overnight in some warm water. Their seed coats are pretty thick and this will speed the germination process. They should be spaced out about 3 inches apart. After the seedlings come up, you'll probably want to thin them out to be about 6 - 12 inches between each plant. They prefer full sun locations (at least 6 hours of sun a day) and a place to climb. You may also want to try Moon Vine or Hyacinth Bean. Both are excellent climbers and have beautiful flowers as well. They also look really nice with morning glories. Happy Gardening!

Plant them indoors in peat moss trays.





Nurture them when they come up, and take them outside on warm, sunny days. They are sensitive to cold and frost, so keep them inside when they could be damaged.





They will grow up strings attached to your fence, and on trellises, and be perfectly beautiful!





Later in the blooming season, collect some seed from the blooms that have flowered first.





Unfortunately, just when you have become accustomed to their loveliness, there will be frost.
Reply:From seed, nick the seed a tiny bit, and soak them over night, then direct sow them into the ground. They need something to climb, like a fence for example. They re-seed for the next year too, but be careful, they can take over a small space, and other plants.
