Why is it when my morning glory seeds have grown to about six inches in peat pots, half of them die off?

They need to go outside and be planted.

They need lots of water and room to grow, they are a pretty wild plant once established in the garden, they will spread like mint, so be carful where you put them but they may not have enough room in the pots.
Reply:80% of the time it's a fungus commonly called root rot. Make sure you don't overwater the plants and let them dry out a bit between waterings (I wait until they droop a bit).

If you reuse your soil, soak it in water and then squeeze it out. Put the moist soil in the microwave and "nuke" until steaming.

This sanitizes it.
